Electrical Installation Condition Report (Eicr) – Fixed Wire Testing

Also referred to as Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), is the examination and testing of the circuits that distribute electricity around your building. This includes all electrical circuits in your building that are fixed, such as lighting, socket outlets, other fixed plant equipment, etc.

The test report provides you with evidence that the electrical installation in your building is safe and has been tested by our competent electrical engineers.

The test report ensures that your electrical installation meets the legal requirements of the “Electricity at Work Regulations Act 1989”, “Health & Safety at Work Act 1974” and “BS 7671” (IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition as amended).

Epica Health, Safety & Wellbeing have engineers with the necessary experience and qualifications to carry out fixed wire testing on buildings of all shapes and sizes, from small residential properties, to large industrial buildings.

How often should this be carried out?

Most business premises fall under the 5year inspection interval however, the frequency is dependent on the type of services you offer or the type of manufacturing you deliver.

Tenanted properties should have an inspection either every 5 years or whenever a new tenant moves into the property depending on which one comes first. “The Landlords and Tenant Act 1985” requires landlords of properties with short leases to keep the electrical wiring in repair and in proper working order.

An owner-occupied home should be tested every 10 years.

Do insurance companies mandate fixed wire testing?

Buildings insurance policies may be invalidated in the event of a claim if fixed electrical testing is not completed within the recommended guidelines.

How is Fixed Wire Testing priced?

Epica Health, Safety & Wellbeing base our fixed wire pricing on a circuit by circuit bases, this means our clients will only pay for the circuits checked and tested.

Prices start at £190.00 for under 10 circuits and then £14.00 per additional circuit but if you would like any more information, why not contact us or call us on 0151 448 7940.

We are also able to hold your report and when necessary issue you a reminder that your next test is due, with plenty of time to schedule into your busy calendar.
