Anyone in your organisation who comes into contact with personal data, including customer records.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) changes comes into effect on 25 May 2018. It ensures companies will not misuse personal data and hold them accountable if they do.

The aim: The aim of the course is to provide people who work at height with sufficient information to be able to plan and manage the tasks safely. Learning outcomes: Upon completion of the course, learners will know how to: Implement strategies to avoid having to work at height if possible Prevent falls from height Minimise the consequences of a fall from height Comply with personal legal duties Select the most appropriate access and working equipment for the task. Who the course is for: This awareness course is suitable for all people who are required to work at height. This course provides a basic awareness of the risks from working at height, as well as practical ways to prevent falls from height.

The aim: The aim of the course is to provide employees with the knowledge and information required to prevent harm from exposure to hazardous substances. Learning outcomes: On completion of the course learners will know how to: Identify hazardous substances and assess the risks from exposure Prevent or reduce the risk of harm from using or being exposed to hazardous substances Apply a hierarchical approach to controlling risks from storing, using and disposing of hazardous substances Select and use the most appropriate personal protection for the task. Who the course is for: This awareness course is suitable for everyone in the workplace who works with, or comes into contact with hazardous substances. It is primarily aimed at the employee but managers and supervisors will also find it useful to help manage the risks.

The aim of the course is to provide employees with the knowledge and information required to prevent environmental harm from workplace activities. On completion of the course delegates should be able to: Explain what is meant by “Environment” Outline ways in which organisations and individuals can harm the environment Describe the benefits of good environmental management Outline the ways in which organisations and individuals can help to reduce the harm to the environment Who the course is for: Everyone. The aim: The aim of this course is to reduce accidents relating to driving to work. Learning outcomes: On completion of the course learners will know how to: Drive in accordance with the Highway Code and legal requirements. Check a vehicle for road-worthiness before a long journey Plan a journey safely and organise breaks to reduce the risks from fatigue Manage road incidents and emergencies Who the course is for: This course is suitable for all people who may be asked to drive for work, whether using company transport or their own. The course is aimed primarily at the driver although any person who manages or organises driving activities will also find it useful.

The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to the issues around violence at work and explain how to deal with it safely and effectively to maintain personal safety while working. On completion of the course delegates should be able to: Outline the legal responsibilities for employees in workplaces in relation to personal safety Explain what is meant by “Violence at work” Recognise risk factors and signs of imminent threat Outline measures that can be taken to reduce the risk of harm from violence Who the course is for: All line and project managers who have some responsibility for managing the health and safety of others in the workplace.

The aim: The course is intended to provide employees with the necessary information to be able to reduce and manage their own stress. Learning outcomes: On completion of the course learners will be able to: Recognise their own workplace and home-based stressors Recognise when their personal pressure becomes too much to cope with Take action to reduce the risk of harm from stress Notify someone when they feel that they are not able to cope with the pressure placed on them. Who the course is for: Employees of all levels within an organisation

The aim of the course is to provide managers with the knowledge and information required to manage the risks to workers’ health and safety. On completion of the course delegates should be able to: Outline the legal responsibilities for employers and employees in workplaces Outline the reasons for managing the health and safety of people at work Describe common hazards found in the workplace Describe a basic risk assessment process Outline the main responsibilities of line and project managers Who the course is for: All line and project managers who have some responsibility for managing the health and safety of others in the workplace.

The aim: The aim of the course is to prevent injuries to employees from manual handling activities. Learning outcomes: On completion of the course learners will know how to: Organise tasks to avoid manual handling where there is a significant risk of injury Use mechanical handling equipment to reduce the risk of injury from handling loads Store items in a way that assists safe handling practices Carry out manual handling activities safely. Who is the course for: Everyone in the workplace who undertakes any form of manual handling as part of their work. This would include all workers engaged in lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling or carrying of loads.

The aim: The aim of the course is to help display screen users reduce the risk of harm from using computers at work. Learning outcomes: On completion of the course learners will know how to: Recognise early signs of problems in their health from DSE use Report problems and concerns regarding their equipment or its use Adjust the whole workstation to find the most comfortable and ergonomically correct working position Organise and carry out their work safely Who the course is for: Everyone in the workplace who uses computers. Although primarily aimed at those who habitually use DSE as a significant part of their work, it will benefit all those who use computers to undertake some part of their work.

The aim: The aim of the course is to provide fire wardens with sufficient knowledge and training in fire safety matters to enable them to assist the responsible person in compliance with their legal obligations. Learning outcomes: On completion of the course learners will know how to: Prevent fires from starting Slow down the spread of fires in buildings Carry out typical fire warden functions Carry out workplace fire inspections Select suitable fire extinguishing equipment for various types of fire. Who the course is for: This awareness course is suitable for anyone who has been nominated to act as a fire warden (or fire marshal) for their organisation.

The aim: The aim of the course is to prevent fires in the workplace and to save life in the event of a fire. Learning outcomes: On completion of the course learners will know how to: Avoid starting a fire Identify fire hazards in the workplace and to report fire safety concerns Behave when discovering a fire or hearing the fire alarm Comply with emergency evacuation procedures. Who the course is for: This course is suitable for everyone in the workplace. Employees, Supervisors, Managers and Directors will all benefit from this fire safety awareness course.

The aim: 
The aim of the course is to help employers and employees reduce slip and trip accidents in the work-place.

Learning outcomes:
On completion of the course learners will know how to:
1. Identify slip and trip hazards in workplaces
2. Avoid creating slip and trip hazards in the workplace
3. Manage slip and trip hazards in the workplace
4. Assist employers with complying with their legal duties.

This awareness course is suitable for everyone in the workplace. It will help managers and supervisors to manage the risk of slips and trips and it will show employees how to avoid accidents.​

The aim of the course is to reduce the risks of injury or ill health to workers who work in their own homes.

Describe how to ensure work equipment is safe for use
