Mindfulness Monday – Monday Morning Blues

Monday Morning blues?! We all have them – especially when the weather is miserable and cold!

Why not try some Mindfulness techniques to set your week up in the right way?

Step 1: Take a deep breath.

Step 2: Evaluate your posture. Are you hunched over? Are you slouching? Correct your posture to ensure that you don’t come out of the day with aching shoulders, back or neck.

Step 3: Do any of your muscles feel tense? Hone in on your awareness of what is going on with your body. Sometimes we tense our muscles without knowing, sometimes it is good to just regroup and let go… Relax!

As we all lead very busy lives, many of us will come into work this Monday morning and want to rush ahead with the day as we have so much to get through. Why not take a few minutes to gather your thoughts and write a ‘to-do’ list of what needs to be actioned and in order of priority!

We often focus on Wellbeing in terms of diet and exercise but continue to neglect our mental health and don’t focus enough on how we can improve this. It pays to take a step back and organise ourselves so that we can start and execute the week in the best way possible!
